A relatively recent research interest has been exploring how single board computers (SBC) and physical computing techniques can be used as a social science research methodology. While single board computers have been around for quite some time, their popularity has skyrocketed over the last decade with the introduction of the Raspberry Pi. SBCs like the Raspberry Pi have allowed makers from a variety of disciplines to create projects and prototypes that both interact with the physical world and interface with the internet.
